1400 sq.ft. home will be new home for family of 7

Homes by DeSantis has joined forces with Habitat for Humanity  Hamilton and the City of Hamilton to help build a new 1400 square  foot home, in an unprecedented 90 days.

“We believe that Habitat for Humanity works,” explains Gabriel  DeSantis, President of Homes by DeSantis. “While we are financially  supporting this build and providing our expertise, together with the  City of Hamilton, our contractors and the hundreds of volunteers have  been getting involved. We can all do our own small part to help solve  the affordable housing crisis. ”

This corporate partnership of having a builder and associated trades  donate time and materials is a different approach to the more “public  participation” way of building a Habitat For Humanity home. “Our hope is  that this project serves a future model of how the New Home building  industry can take a leadership role in future Habitat for Humanity
endeavours,” finishes DeSantis.

“The City of Hamilton is pleased to partner with Hamilton Habitat and  Homes by DeSantis, adds City Councilor Chad Collins. “Together we  can make a real difference to a hard working Hamilton family.”

June 29th has been slated as the completion date.

Sponsors who are donating time and materials to help make this  dream home a reality include: A J Clarke, Prestige Design, Soilmat,  IBI Group, Toronto Digital Imaging, Drive Agency, Dayluxe, Scarfone  Hawkins LLP and Dow Chemical. As well, many more of our contractors  are stepping up to support the project.

The deserving recipients of the 4 bedroom home are Michelle and  Brandon DenBesten, and their 5 children.
