To Creating Your Dream Home
Step 1/ PLANNING
Depending on the stage of community construction when you purchase your home, there can be weeks or even months before selections appointment. During this time you will receive a welcome letter advising you when you can begin browsing appointments and how to pick up a copy of your community’s unique décor catalogue. Visit the Design Studio during open browsing hours as many times as you’d like before your appointment. Prepare with inspirational design photos, from sites like Houzz, Pinterest or Instagram creating a board for each room of your home or even selecting images from Home Design magazines. Review the checklist provided with colour and finish options and determine a list of upgrades that you might like to include in your home.
Step 2/ DESIGN APPT.
You will receive an email from the designer dedicated to your file in order to arrange your Design Appt. Your appointment will consist of two parts, structural and colours, these appointments are conducted during regular business hours Monday — Friday and will take approximately 2 hours for a condo and 4-5 hours for a townhome or detached home. Your Design Consultant will review your new home plans, your budget and style, the standard finishes and upgrade options.
Step 3/ SIGN-OFF & CONSTRUCTION
During your appointment all paperwork will be prepared. You may sign at this time or take your paperwork home to conduct a final review and confirm all that has been selected is exactly as you want it. As once paperwork is signed and submitted to head office no further changes are possible without incurring an administration fee. Once your selections have been reviewed and approved by the construction department Homes By DeSantis will sign all related copies and you will be mailed and emailed copies of your amendments. Be sure to keep copies of all documentation for reference at your final inspection.
Step 4/ LEARN
Prior to closing, you will be contacted to attend a New Homeowner Seminar held by the Homes By DeSantis Customer Service Manager. This is a great opportunity to learn all about the new systems in your home as well as the process for closing and the warranty process afterwards.
Step 5/ INSPECT
Approximately 1 week before closing you will be contacted to conduct a final Pre-Delivery Inspection which involves a complete walk through of your home. At this time you will review all of the finishes and identify any deficiencies that may be apparent in order to submit to customer service prior to closing. Please remember to bring your design amendments for reference.
Step 6/ MOVE IN & ENJOY
After patiently waiting the day has finally arrived it’s time to move into your new Homes By DeSantis home or condo and enjoy all the benefits of a newly constructed residence.
